Nikon D300 is a digital SLR camera that replaces the Nikon D200. It is considered a compact professional SLR, and competes against the Canon EOS 40D, the Olympus E-3 and the Sony α 700.

The Nikon D300 was named "Camera of the Year 2007" by Popular Photography. The camera was released on August 23, 2007 with an initial retail price of $1,799 USD.
